Director, Used Equipment

Purpose of the position

 

To lead the Hiab US Used Equipment business, driving performance across revenue, cost base, resourcing, and acquisition to contribute to Hiab’s long-term profitable growth according to Hiab’s strategy. The role is responsible for the full P&L performance, E2E profit contribution, budgeting, forecasting, and sales volumes for the Hiab US used equipment business.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Lead organizational development, culture building, and business performance of used equipment business
  • Develop and implement short-term actions and long-term strategies to profitably grow the used equipment business
  • Develop and measure key performance goals (KPIs) to achieve targets, forecast accurately, and implement preventative and corrective actions when necessary
  • Lead a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Develop used equipment acquisition channels and pipeline management to achieve strategic growth objectives.
  • Lead used equipment sales activities and channel development (Sales, market share growth, direct and wholesale) through used equipment team and new equipment sales channels.
  • Effectively manage sales funnel and sales process through CRM
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations to refurbish and prepare used equipment for resale
  • Manage fixed and variable costs to ensure margin and profitability goals are achieved
  • Manage pricing and acquisition costs of used equipment offerings
  • Develop and maintain an e-commerce presence for the used equipment business
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for used equipment, with support from the marketing team
  • Utilize market and customer insights to drive informed decision-making and differentiated performance
  • Direct, support and coach your team to secure continuous development of the right competencies, efficient working methods, and stimulating working environment.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent experience in a related field (technical and/or business)

 

Working experience:

 

  • Multiple years of experience in leading a P&L responsibility
  • Leading a sales team
  • Selling equipment (new or used) through varied direct and wholesale channels
  • Track record of leading and developing high-performing team
