Purpose of the position

 

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented internal controls professional ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic global organization? Join Hiab as a Manager, Internal Controls, and play a key role in ensuring our continued success. In this role, you will support the Director, Internal Controls in developing and implementing Internal Controls at Hiab designed to mitigate material weaknesses.

 

This role is open for Finland and Bulgaria.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Framework Development & Maintenance: Support the Director, Internal Controls in the ongoing development and maintenance of the Hiab Internal Control Framework. This includes translating high-level control objectives into clear, practical control procedures and ensuring alignment with best practices
  • Embedding Controls in Process Documentation: Collaborate closely with process owners and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate defined internal controls into core process documentation, such as process flowcharts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and working instructions
  • Supporting Global Control Implementation & Awareness: Assist in the effective implementation of the Hiab internal Control Framework across the Hiab organization. This includes proactive communication, training initiatives, and activities aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of internal control principles, roles, and responsibilities
  • Implementing Best Practices & Automation: Drive the adoption of leading control standards, efficient ways of working, and opportunities for controls automation across the organization, contributing to a more robust and effective control environment
  • Facilitating and Maintaining the Delegation of Authority: Take ownership in facilitating the consistent and controlled implementation of the Delegation of Authority (DoA) framework. This includes working with relevant stakeholders to develop, update, and maintain the DoA documentation itself, ensuring it accurately reflects current organizational structures and approval authorities
  • Developing and Executing Controls Monitoring Activities: Design, implement, and execute ongoing monitoring activities to assess the effectiveness and adherence to the internal controls framework across the organization, identifying areas for improvement and escalating potential issues as needed.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as Finance, Internal Control or Audit professional in a global environment
  • Master’s degree in business, accounting or other relevant field of study (e.g. Certified Internal Auditor)
  • Knowledge of internal control concepts, best practices including continuous control monitoring and automated testing
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving skills. Experience in managing complex initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and capable of making presentations to a variety of constituents in a clear, concise, compelling fashion
  • Working across functions and different geographies
  • Quick grasp of the business and functional processes, organizational structure and business models
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
