Trainee, Business Analyst

Your mission

The Summer Trainee will support data-driven decision-making within Hiab Services. Working alongside experienced analysts and business stakeholders, the trainee will get hands-on exposure to BI reporting, data pipelines, and commercial analytics in a global industrial environment.

The role focuses on supporting existing reporting and analytics workflows, from BigQuery consumption models to dashboards in Qlik Sense and Looker Studio, while learning how data translates into business decisions.

We are accepting applications for Helsinki and Tampere, Finland.

Key responsibilities

• Support the maintenance and development of BI dashboards and reports in Qlik Sense and Looker Studio

• Assist in building and validating BigQuery data pipelines from curated source tables to the reporting layer

• Help ensure data quality and consistency within defined data categories (e.g. installed base, sales, contract coverage)

• Support business case development and analytical input to ongoing projects

• Participate in trainings and knowledge sharing with front-line and central teams

• Contribute to improving data processes, workflows, and documentation.

What we are looking for

• Currently pursuing BSc or MSc in a relevant field (e.g. business, engineering, information systems, data science, economics)

• Basic SQL knowledge required; experience with BigQuery, Qlik Sense, or Looker Studio is a plus

• Comfortable working with Excel and structured data

• Analytical mindset with curiosity to understand the business context behind numbers

• Good communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to non-technical audiences

• Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working across functions and geographies

• Fluent in English.
