Your mission

 

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming features/functions, performing load and stability testing, and conducting diagnostics and maintenance for Vehicle Loading Cranes (VLCs), Hooklifts, and Moffett Truck Mounted Forklifts. You will ensure safe and efficient operations on site, adhere to safety standards, and lead by example, mentoring apprentices and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Program and test hydraulic and electronic systems of VLCs and similar equipment
  • Perform load and stability testing to industry standards
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues independently
  • Maintain compliance with all OHS and industry standards
  • Ensure service vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and properly equipped
  • Complete and submit accurate test reports and documentation
  • Deliver high-quality service and support to our valued customers
  • Supervise safety practices on-site and support team members through training and guidance
  • Ensure all work areas and customer equipment are left clean and in a safe condition.

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Previous experience in a similar role (experience with Palfinger, Fassi, HMF, Ferrari, or Effer equipment is highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards for VLCs
  • Proven ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • High attention to detail and excellent fault-finding skills
  • Experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Excellent time management and customer service skills.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Trade Qualification (Plant Mechanic, Heavy/Light Vehicle Mechanic)
  • High Risk Work Licence (Class CV – mandatory)
  • Basic Dogging Licence (Class DG – mandatory)
  • Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) licence – preferred.
