Purpose of the position

 

Lead and develop the category functions including Category and Supplier Development with a focus on high performance and a continuous improvement mindset. Create, develop and execute category strategies, supplier preferencing and selection to maximise total acquisition cost with sustainable and operational performance across Hiab to secure benchmark total cost of ownership as well as driving profitability and growth. Sourcing representative in the Divisional Leadership team, overall ownership of sourcing deliverables on both direct and indirect sourcing categories into division P&L.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Lead the planning and execution of the category strategy across whole-Hiab spend to optimize use of Hiab resources over the E2E product lifecycle addressing strategic commercial sourcing requirements, supplier preferencing, consolidation and pipeline to secure continuity of supply and emerging business needs
  • Own the Hiab-wide supplier performance within the category using category supplier development resources and QDCI balanced scorecard methodology to monitor and improve performance across key metrics
  • Establish and lead collaboration between key suppliers, R&D, supplier development,  and the business lines to provide the innovation capabilities and capacity required to drive business growth, cash and margin improvements to secure “best customer” focus at suppliers
  • Successful cross-functional leadership and participation in New Product Development, Supplier relationship Management (SRM), early supplier involvement and selection with technology development, productivity, total cost reduction make/buy programs, should-cost modelling, indirect sourcing and business process and system implementation
  • Develop and deliver a category technology roadmap to division leadership and NPD teams
  • Supplier scalability, risk management, and supplier improvement programs to drive productivity and secure efficient supply chain management within the category
  • Identification and development of new suppliers within BCC countries to support current and future needs of the business
  • Services Strategy Execution including branding to increase capture rate and spare part revenues
  • Secure that the Category Sourcing team contributes to and utilizes the leverage from Hiab Business Lines and Supplier Development through common category and vendor sustainability/risk management as well as common tools and processes
  • Develop the Category Sourcing team through active leadership, mentoring and performance development
  • Participate as an active member of the Sourcing Leadership Team providing leadership, direction, and support to the Category, Site Sourcing and Supplier Development organisations.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • Third level degree and/or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant global industrial experience (truck, construction machines, mining, agriculture or automotive)
  • At least 7-10 years within a Sourcing or Supply Chain role, 5 years of which should be at Senior Management level, within a multinational, multi-site, global company
  • Leading global teams across multiple geographies
  • Experience successfully leading transformational change
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Senior level development and implementation of long term business relationships and/or strategy in business or operations
  • Strong people management skills and experience, focusing on employee personal and professional development
  • Superior communication skills – Oral, written and formal presentation skills towards stakeholders and senior management 
  • Teamwork, collaboration, leadership
  • Ability to travel, sometimes at short notice
  • English requirement: Fluent.
