HSE Manager

Your mission

The HSE Manager is the guardian of our most valuable asset: our people. By providing expert knowledge and fostering a positive safety culture, you will ensure every team member thrives in a safe, ergonomic, and compliant environment. You will act as a key partner to our Value Stream Managers, navigating local regulations and internal KPIs to maintain a workplace that prioritizes well-being alongside operational success.

This is a fixed-term position (estimated 12 months) to provide temporary cover, based in Minerbio (Bologna), Italy.

Key responsibilities

• Development, implementation and maintenance of a system for hazard identification and risk assessment on existing and new processes and equipment. 

• Coordinate and support the closure of health and safety root causes and risk assessments in alignment with value stream safety representative(s).  

• Develop, implement and maintain a system for accident/safety incident investigation which would include detailed reporting and corrective action.

• Develop, implement and maintain a system to ensure all statutory inspections and audits are carried out and records are maintained by relevant personnel.

• Develop, implement and maintain a system whereby monthly KPI statistics are complete and communicated in a timely manner.

• Case management of all incidents and accidents, including work related disabilities (malattie professionali) and work related stress reporting and actions. 

• Analyse the working stations in view of minimising the health and safety impact on employees, contributes, together with HR and operations, in managing the cases of employees not able to perform in a position for physical limitations.

• Provides solutions to meet both  the mandatory legal requirements and the continuous improvement of the operations (efficiency and effectiveness).

• Analyse the near misses and the incidents to generate solutions able to prevent incidents.

• In charge of HSE kpis and related reporting.

• Deploy all the processes and procedures required global corporate and local laws/local certifications requirements.

• Organises training for the employees to meet legal /corporate requirements.

• Develop a Safety First Culture which includes specific communications and initiatives to embed safety in the daily culture and behaviours.

• Contributes to the development and deployment of the strategy to reach sustainability target.

• Liaising closely with the appropriate legal and insurance bodies and keeping senior management updated in a timely manner.

• Lead on-site EH&S improvement, awareness and engagement programmes.

What we are looking for

• Qualification as RSPP

• Degree in Engineering OR Relevant degree in HSE

• 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role in manufacturing environment 

• Experience in management of ISO 45001 and ISO14001 requirements

• Safety First attitude and thinking

• English (minimum intermediate level - B1 level)

• Italian mother tongue
