Global Product Manager

Hiab is looking for a Global Product Manager who will provide best in class customer experience by delivering competitive solutions based on customer needs and prioritized according to business opportunity. The responsibilities of the Product management will be the key driver of HIAB’s long term profitable growth by delivering high value added solutions for customers’ current and future business needs. In addition, this role will lead Multilift demountables product portfolio sales and represent DMDF as one point of contact for the responsible markets.


The position will be based in Raisio, Finland.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for product roadmap implementation for given product(s) according to product line strategy and overall MGPP (multi generation product plan). Supporting Hiab and DMDF division targets.
  • Lead the sales of demountable solutions in responsible markets in line with budgets and strategy including periodic follow up per market (e.g. life cycle deals)
  • Direct and support in all major sales cases for equipment, match the best product offering with each customer opportunity
  • Point of contact for Sales Areas, Distributor Management & Emerging Markets on all application, pricing and discounts
  • Set finished goods inventory targets as part of S&OP process
  • Approve reservations or pre-builds for customer opportunities without firm orders in line with company policy
  • Provide insights for product line for new offering, new options & special option requests, as well as how to improve installations competitiveness
  • Provide market and customer intelligence and feedback: trends & needs, product performance & competitive offering, understand the market
  • Coordination role with all the stakeholders involved (supply, engineering, sourcing, product line and finance)
  • Manage and make available the Division price list to Sales Areas in alignment with central pricing, manage Division transfer pricing in alignment with central pricing, owns pricing of his/her product line within Hiab pricing framework
  • Identify focus segments/applications supporting local sales strategy
  • Provide customer (including truck manufacturer) interface
  • Prioritize PLC activity so that product remains competitive, enables growth and is safe to operate
  • Take a leading role in NPD projects and launching of new products and options/features
  • Perform cost analysis (cost development, fixed costs vs direct costs, inflation)
  • Organize and provide product and value selling training (Training on value proposition and offering)
  • Input to marketing (Value proposition, differentiation to competitor, other USP’s, sales initiatives, releases, etc.)
  • Collaborates in TCO (total cost of ownership) management. Develop insights (and sales/value argumentation tools) for product TCO in different applications and customer segments
  • Handle product related questions together with the Product Support department (fast reactions to customer requests and demands).
  • Participate to/leads product councils both online and in person
  • Give input to product configuration specialist/manager in administration of product data in configurator and sales tools
     

What you’ll need to succeed

Candidate must be able to analyze information and data, and provide actionable insights to teams in a matrix organization. This will ensure products provide expected value to both business and customers.

 

  • University Degree: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline is essential.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Technical and Business Acumen: A comprehensive understanding of technical principles and business operations, ideally gained from experience within the relevant industry
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders is vital.
  • Leadership and Management Abilities: Proven experience in leading teams, managing projects, and making effective decisions is necessary.
  • Resilience and Adaptability: The capacity to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both spoken and written English is mandatory.
  • Additional Desirable Qualifications:
  • Industry-Specific Certifications: Relevant professional certifications or accreditations are advantageous
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze complex problems, develop creative solutions, and implement them effectively 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly
