Accountant

Your mission

Hiab is looking for an analytical and proactive Accountant to serve as a key financial anchor for our global operations. In this role, your expertise will directly influence our international workflows by ensuring flawless month-end closes, robust balance sheet reconciliations, and strict compliance with internal control frameworks.

This position is designed for an accounting professional who thrives on variety and end-to-end visibility—acting as the primary point of contact for international stakeholders and cross-training junior talent.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the Financial Close: Coordinate and execute month-end general ledger activities and prepare high-quality balance sheet reconciliations for assigned countries.
• Ensure End-to-End Control: Oversee how key business streams (ITC, ITP, and HR activities) reflect in the books, maintaining full controlling and reporting oversight.
• Act as a Trusted Partner: Serve as the primary point of contact for international stakeholders and efficiently manage ad-hoc financial requests.
• Support the R2R Function: Deliver operational excellence within the Record-to-Report framework, ensuring error-free, compliant, and smooth processes.
• Champion Compliance: Uphold internal control procedures and accounting policies in strict accordance with CAS and company frameworks.
• Foster Growth & Innovation: Participate in process improvement projects and step up to lead cross-trainings for junior team members and newcomers.
• Build Connections: Develop strong, supportive, and collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the global team.

What we are looking for

• The Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or an equivalent financial background.
• The Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in finance operations, with a solid understanding of the Record-to-Report (R2R) process.
• Tech Savviness: Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and practical experience working with ERP systems.
• Analytical Mindset: Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to handle everything from simple to complex financial queries.
• Communication Power: Fluency in written and spoken English, paired with excellent interpersonal skills to connect with international teams.
• Proactive Drive: A strong team player who naturally takes initiative to improve both individual and team workflows.
