Your mission

 

The Director Finance Shared Services leads the day-to-day operations of the Hiab Business Center (HBC) Finance organization in Sofia, while driving the continued development, transformation, and effectiveness of the global finance services delivered through HBC.

 

The role is accountable for ensuring high-quality, efficient, and reliable delivery of core finance services, while aligning the different operational streams around common strategic priorities and business objectives. A key focus is to continuously strengthen operational performance, simplify and standardize processes, and deliver sustainable improvements in efficiency, quality, and service.

 

As a senior finance leader, the Director Finance Shared Services HBC plays an important role in shaping the future of Hiab's finance operating model, working closely with Group Finance, business stakeholders, and HBC leadership to translate strategic priorities into operational execution.

 

The position is based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

 

Reporting Lines & Governance

 

The Director Finance Shared Services HBC  reports directly to the VP, Group Controlling and is an active member of key finance and leadership forums across the organization, including the:

 

  • Hiab Finance Leadership Team
  • Finance Control Group
  • Sofia HBC Leadership Team

 

The role has direct leadership responsibility for the following Finance streams:

 

  • Record to Report (RTR)
  • Invoice to Pay (ITP)
  • Invoice to Cash (ITC)
  • Master Data

Key responsibilities

 

1. Operative Management

 

  • Performance & Team Leadership: Oversee the operational performance of all functional streams (RTR, ITP, ITC, and Master Data) to ensure standard operational excellence and Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence.
  • KPI Management: Drive and manage the KPI Scorecard across operating locations (Sofia & Poland).
  • Global Alignment: Support the dotted-line functional reporting for HBC US operations to ensure global alignment.
  • Leadership Execution: Lead and conduct the bi-weekly HBC Finance Leadership Team (LT) meetings.
  • People & Organizational Planning: Oversee direct reports and drive overall organization planning, talent development, and resource allocation across the broader HBC team.

 

2. HBC Transformation & Business Development

 

  • Strategic Alignment: Oversee the progression of all HBC transformation initiatives to ensure they align with master implementation plans across all operative streams.
  • Stream Enablement: Support Stream Leads—who directly own their respective transformation projects—by removing operational roadblocks and maintaining cross-functional integration.
  • Target Achievement: Ensure transformation initiatives hit set milestones and deliver on specified efficiency, cost-optimization, and quality targets

What we are looking for

 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar.
  • Experience leading international, multifunctional Shared Services / Finance Operations organizations, including at least 5 years managing senior leaders.
  • Strong experience across core finance processes such as RTR, ITP, ITC, and Master Data.
  • Proven track record in people and process development, transformation, process excellence, change management, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong budget, cost, productivity, and financial target management skills, with demonstrated business case delivery.
  • Experience managing senior customer and stakeholder relationships in a complex global organization.
  • Strong understanding of service performance, governance, controls, and finance process standardization.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and results orientation.
  • Strong transformational leadership, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • International mindset with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Fluent English is essential; additional languages are an asset.
