Key contribution to the company
Hiab is looking for a Manager, Health & Safety, who will be responsible for inspection, advisory services and coordination of activities related to occupational health and safety conditions at the facility. The role involves the identification and assessment of workplace hazards, as well as the management of a subordinate team.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Coordinating activities and advising on work organization and methods at workstations where hazardous, harmful, or strenuous factors occur, as well as selecting the most appropriate collective and individual protective equipment,
- Conducting inspections of working conditions and compliance with OHS regulations and principles, with particular emphasis on workstations employing pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers, juveniles, disabled persons, employees performing shift work (including night work), and natural persons performing work on a basis other than an employment relationship within the workplace or at a place designated by the employer,
- Ongoing informing of the employer about identified occupational hazards, along with proposals aimed at eliminating these hazards.
- Preparing and presenting to the employer periodic analyses of the state of OHS, containing proposals for technical and organizational measures aimed at preventing threats to the life and health of employees and improving working conditions,
- Developing internal orders, regulations, and general instructions regarding OHS, and establishing tasks for persons directing employees in the scope of OHS,
- Determining the circumstances and causes of accidents at work and developing conclusions resulting from the investigation of the causes and circumstances of these accidents and cases of occupational diseases, as well as monitoring the implementation of these conclusions,
- Co-creating and updating the occupational risk assessment,
- Ensuring an appropriate level of training in the field of OHS (initial training, periodic training, job instructions),
- Creating preventive programs and taking actions aimed at reducing accidents at work through supervision and coordination of employee reports,
- Adapting the organization to the requirements of the ISO 45001 standard.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Higher education degree, including postgraduate studies in Occupational Health and Safety,
- Minimum 3 years of experience in OHS and Fire Safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment,
- English proficiency at a level enabling fluent communication within the company,
- Goal-oriented with excellent self-organization and the ability to coordinate tasks within a complex structure,
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team,
- Assertiveness,
- Valid driving license (Cat. B) and willingness to travel for business (1-2 day trips, a few times a month).
