Operational buyer

Your mission

Are you an experienced supply chain or operations professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are looking for an Operational Buyer to join our team in Stargard.

As an Operational Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuous availability of materials for our internal processes. Your goal is to secure the production plan, optimize inventory levelsa and maintain excellent relationships with our suppliers, contributing directly to Hiab’s operational success.

Contract Type: Fixed-term contract for 1 year

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders according to production needs; monitor and control the timeliness and compliance of deliveries.

• Maintain and develop strong daily relationships with material suppliers, evaluate their performance based on established KPIs and handle escalations to Global Procurement Categories according to Hiab's internal processes.

• Work closely with Production Planning and other supporting departments to secure the production plan and minimize the impact of any delivery delays.

• Control and optimize warehouse stock levels, prepare periodic inventory value reports, and maintain/update purchasing and logistics parameters in the ERP system (e.g., Lead Time, MOQ, Order Increment, Double Sourcing).

• Regularly resolve price variances (PPV) to ensure smooth invoice processing by the Finance department, maintain price lists in the ERP system, and manage engineering changes from the supplier side (ECN, ECR, PLC, NPD).

• Generate purchase orders for prototypes and QAP samples and onboard new local "direct" suppliers not covered by global categories.

• Actively participate in developing Hiab Polska’s procurement processes and train new team members on organization requirements, quality assurance, and ERP systems.

What we are looking for

• A University degree (preferably in Logistics, Management, Supply Chain, or Economics).

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar operational procurement or supply chain role.

• Practical experience working with MRP/ERP systems and proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.

• Communicative English (both written and spoken).

• Strong analytical skills, excellent work organization, independence in decision-making, and the ability to solve problems both individually and as part of a team. A flexible and diligent attitude is essential.

• A valid driving license is an asset (for occasional driving of company vehicles).
