Senior Manager - Control of machine

Purpose of the position
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Manager to lead the Control of the Machine (CoM) department within the Motion & Control Centre of Excellence (M&C CoE).
In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of a department of approximately 15 engineers, organized into four specialized teams: Hydraulics, Mechanics, Hardware, and Software.
You will oversee the development of key technologies including control units, sensors, electronics, and hydraulic systems. Additionally, you will lead cross-functional R&D projects within the M&C CoE to ensure alignment with company objectives and innovation goals. In this role you will be a part of our growth journey when it comes to processes, organization and product offering.
You will report directly to the R&D Director, M&C CoE.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the CoM department in line with organizational strategy
- 5 years of experience in managing a diverse team over several sites. Comfortable to lead through setting targets based on long-term strategy and following up
- Drive innovation and execution in control systems, electronics, sensors, and hydraulics
- Manage cross-disciplinary R&D projects within the M&C CoE
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across functions such as Product Management, Production, and Service
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including Functional Safety and Cyber Security requirements
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills, is motivated by results and considers tasks within broader team and business goals.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Mechatronics, Hydraulics, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of senior management experience in product development, preferably within industrial or automotive sectors
- Strong background in product development and systems engineering
- Knowledge of functional safety, including EN ISO 13849
- Solid understanding of control systems and system integration (electronics/software/embedded systems)
- Experience in embedded software development and hardware design
- Proficiency in the design and development of electronics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with industrial production processes
- Experience in testing and validation of complex systems.
