Senior R&D Engineer Mechatronics

Your mission

We are seeking a Senior R&D Engineer Mechatronics to join our team in Vallentuna.  This role is central to the mechanical design and development of our electronics product portfolio, which includes sensors, remote controllers, and other electronic devices.

In this dynamic and multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with the Electronics, Software, and Hydraulics departments. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in the full development lifecycle, contributing both to new product development and the initial stages of serial production. A key part of your responsibility will be to help define and develop the necessary manufacturing and testing systems/machines required for serial production.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience spanning the entire product development chain, from initial concept and prototype through to the final, finished product.

Key responsibilities

• Project manager of smaller development projects of new products and production equipment
• Mechanical design of new products or life care of existent products mainly related to electronics devices, like sensors, remote controllers and other electronic equipment.
• Mechanical design of production and test systems
• Documentation, preparation of drawings, manuals and “data sheets” for new products
• Collaborate and harmonise processes and procedure with Product Designer in Hydraulics 
   

What we are looking for

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. within Mechatronics, Mechanics, Material Science, Polymer Technology or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience in similar field 
• Swedish and English (both at good level of spoken and written) 
• Previous experience from plastic construction, preferably for products with higher environmental requirements (e.g. the automotive industry)
• Material and Manufacturing: Extensive knowledge of plastic materials, proficiency in manufacturing processes like vacuum forming and 2K injection molding, and familiarity with surface treatments (Electrical Discharge Machining, etching) and patterning
• Calculation, Joining and Analysis of plastic material: Strength calculation and skill in joining methods (welding, riveting), form filling and warping analysis
• Verification/measurement against requirements and quality assurance
• Freeform modeling and additive manufacturing
• Worked in the SolidWorks environment and their PDM
• Experience with MCAD-ECAD collaboration, preferably digital
• Worked on streamlining product structures at the drawing level such as configurations or similar
• Windchill PDM experiences
• Jira platform for information exchange and documentation

Place of work: Vallentuna (Stockholm)
Visits to other sites in Sweden, upon project needs. 
Estimated travel: 2-4 times per year.
