Project Sourcing Specialist

Purpose of the position

 

The Sourcing Project Buyer (NPD) is responsible for sourcing and supplier management activities within New Product Development (NPD) projects. This role ensures that supplier selection, cost optimization, and Sourcing Strategies align with the company’s innovation and product launch goals. The Sourcing Project Specialist works cross-functionally with Product Manager, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to bring new products to market efficiently and cost-effectively. The position is open to Spain, Italy and Poland.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Supplier Sourcing & Selection

 

  • Work with Global Sourcing Organization to coordinate data gathering and project implementation activities
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for NPD projects aligned with Global Category Teams (Category Managers, Sourcing specialists)
  • Coordinate RFQs (Request for Quotation) and be part, when necessary, of supplier negotiations to achieve cost and quality targets according the budget and project’s timeline
  • Work with strategic supplier for early involvement in projects
  • Ensure selected suppliers meet technical, quality, and sustainability requirements as well as alignment with the rest of the functions and priorities of the project
  • Internal key Sourcing contact for all execution activities within the project

 


Procurement & Cost Management

 

  • Support and be part on the definition of cost targets for NPD components and ensure cost competitiveness
  • Manage cost breakdown analysis (should-cost modeling, value engineering)
  • Secure cost reduction initiatives in New Product Development while maintaining quality and performance

 

 

Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

 

  • Communicating the project status to all relevant and appropriate stakeholders involved in or needing to know overall status
  • Specifications validation with stakeholders for project execution
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to align Sourcing activities with project timelines and with divisional strategies
  • Support prototype sourcing process and ensure smooth transition from development to serial production
  • Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks during NPD phases
  • Consolidating and track sourcing deliverables by respecting milestones
  • Track procurement milestones within APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and ensure supplier readiness
  • Identify needed resources for the multiple projects
  • Manage day to day operational aspect of multiple projects and their scopes.

 

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or project buying within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in NPD, Advance Product Quality Planning and Supplier Management
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing 
  • Experience with Purchasing Projects

 

 

Technical & Soft Skills

 

  • Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier qualification, and risk assessment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Open mindness willingness to understand and learn
  • Rigour, pragmatism and synthetic mind
  • Communication skills in English.
